- Athletics Program Candy Distribution - Friday, January 24, 2020
The World's Finest Chocolates ordered for the Athletics Program fundraiser are coming Friday, January 24th. We need four volunteers to help hand out the chocolate orders to students from around 1:00PM to 4:00PM (times estimated). Please click here to sign up to help hand out the chocolate orders.
- Parish Zydeco Dance - Saturday, January 25, 2020
The Parish's 19th Annual Zydeco Dance is a fun and lively, adult-only night that packs Goode Hall each year. Don't miss out on the music of the Zydeco Flames, delicious Cajun food, and raffle prizes! We need volunteer, donation, and sponsorship sign ups by Wednesday, January 22nd. Please click here to volunteer for Friday night set up and for working Saturday during the Zydeco. - Family Mass Social Reception, Sunday, January 26, 2020
The Parent Board is hosting a social reception following the 10:00AM Family Mass that kicks of Catholic Schools Week. We need volunteers to shop for the food, beverages, and supplies (all expenses will be covered by the Parent Board) and to help Sunday with set up, hosting, and clean up. - Gandparents and Special Persons' Day Reception, Wednesday, January 29, 2020
Our school is hosting this event during Catholic Schools Week and needs volunteers to help at the reception with set up, host, and clean up. This is a very special event that our grandparents and special persons really enjoy and appreciate. It also is a good and fun opportunity to earn hours. Scholastic Book Fair, Monday-Wednesday, March 2-4, 2020
We are looking for a new Book Fair Coordinator to work with the Scholastic Rep and to manage the Book Fair and its volunteers. Click here for details about being Book Fair Coordinator. This is an urgent request for a Book Fair Coordinator (20 parent hours for this role). If we are unable to fill this position, then we may have to cancel the book fair.
Mother-Son Dance Committee, Saturday, May 2, 2020We need a new committee of four volunteers to plan our annual Mother-Son Dance. One mom has offered to be on the committee, and we need just three more. Each committee member will receive 10 hours. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator as soon as possible if you are interested and available.
- SFB's Choir Snacks, Week of Tuesday, January 21, 2020 Our school choir rehearses weekly Thursdays after school under the direction of Mrs. Lilia Patriarca (7th Grade Teacher). They get hungry after their diligent practices! You are welcome to donate snacks to the choir (about 30 people) for parent hours (1 hour for every $10 value of donation). Other Ways to Help St. Finn Barr Grow
Notify any of the following volunteer leaders to offer your time & talent to a planned event or to an area of need that you have identified:
Donate Labor to Our School Projects
- Artistic Talent (for flyers, banners, etc.)
- Carpet cleaning
- Computer technician
- Electrical work
- Window repair
Every Fully Participating Family is required to meet 30 hours per school year. Parent hours generally are given with a max of 10 family hours per event, including a combination of hours worked and hours for donations (1 hour for every $10 value of donation). Non-Participating Families are exempt from earning hours but are always welcome to volunteer for and donate to school and parish events. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you have any volunteer questions or need alternative ways to earn hours.
When making donations, please attach a copy of your receipt with your name, contact info, and the name of your oldest SFB student/grade.
