The goals of the camp will be to open an avenue of self-expression while fostering an appreciation for art. The camp will emphasize Cartooning (emphasizing the communication of ideas through symbol) and Life Drawing (faithfully depicting the world around you).
Each day will consist of warm ups, guided lessons, games, creative collaboration, and drawing, drawing, drawing, in addition to regularly scheduled lunch and recesses. This camp will also include two field trips to Sunnyside Park for observational drawing and to the Walt Disney Museum in the Presidio. Over the course of 3 weeks we will build up each child’s visual library and create a strong foundation of crucial drawing skills. Campers will learn how to transform ideas into finished work they can be proud of and build confidence in their abilities. Whether someone pursues art for fun, or in a professional capacity, art is an invaluable resource for creative problem solving, self discovery, and expressing ideas.
Drawing Camp will run for 3 weeks beginning Monday, June 15th and ending Friday, July 3rd. The Camp will begin at 8:00am and end at 3:00pm Monday through Friday.
