On Friday, April 12th, the 7th grade class ventured to Monterey for a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium Discovery Lab.
Mrs. Bertko - our Middle School Science teacher -- has volunteered for years at the aquarium and is a well-known figure amongst aquarium staff members. Stacia, the Discovery lab director, provided the students with a special lesson before for the aquarium opened to the public. Mrs. Bertko reported, "The students were very well behaved for the lesson and very engaged..raising their hands, answering questions, providing evidence etc. I was very proud to be their teacher."
The group had two hours to explore the Aquarium before lunch. They hiked to China Cove to see the harbor seal nursery and new babies before hiking to San Carlos Beach for lunch and exploration.
Thank you to all of the parents who supported the 7th graders as chaperones!
