St. Finn Barr Altar Servers Represent 25,000 Elementary Students at Installation

On October 4, 2012, St. Finn Barr students and altar servers Joseph, Campos, Matthew Bura, and Catalina Gargollo had the remarkable opportunity to attend the installation of the the ninth Archbishop of San Francisco – Salvatore Joseph Cordileone -- at St. Mary’s Cathedral. During the ceremony, Catalina and Joseph were chosen to formally welcome the Archbishop on behalf of over 25,000 students in the Archdiocese of San Francisco!

After the ritual seating in the cathedra, the students were invited to the center of the Cathedral altar area to shake hands with the Archbishop. In Catalina’s words, “It was breathtaking just being in front of him! We congratulated him and told him that we are students at St. Finn Barr Catholic School. He thanked us and we exchanged many smiles. After, we walked back down the steps to enjoy the remaining awe-inspiring ceremony.”

St. Finn Barr is so proud of Catalina, Joseph, and Matthew, and of all of the thoughtful learning that is happening in Catholic Schools across the Archdiocese….way to make the St. Finn Barr Community proud!
